THE RULES OF THE SCHOOL
- Always raise your hand if you have a question or a comment.
- Always bow when entering and leaving the dojang.
- Respect everyone: your instructor, your fellow students, and yourself!
- You must wear your full uniform to class, and it should be neat and clean. If you come to class without your uniform, you may be asked to sit out. Uniforms are not required for outdoor classes, but you must wear your belt.
- Maintain discipline. Know and practice the tenets of the art. Follow the home rules.
- No food or gum chewing in the dojang.
- No profanity, loud talking or horseplay. Everyone must behave safely!
- No put-downs!
- Never face the instructor, seniors or the flags when tying or untying belt.
- Do not correct the instructor. If you disagree with something the instructor says, discuss it with him or her after class.
- People with long hair should have it tied back securely during class.
- Maintain good personal hygiene. Be sure all wounds (blisters, sores, etc.) are covered; have clean and trimmed finger and toenails. Please come to class with clean hands and feet.
- Do not wear watches or hanging jewelry during class.
- Do not practice patterns or techniques unless the instructor or a senior has shown them to you.
- No sparring without the permission/supervision of a black belt.
- Report all injuries to the instructor.
- Solve small problems on your own (i.e., "he pushed me," "my belt fell off," etc.). Do not tattletale on each other unless it is a dangerous situation.
- Use the bathroom and get a drink before class.
- Middle & high school students must be passing all subjects in school in order to be permitted to test.
- Do not walk through the hallways with bare feet.
- Please show up for class a few minutes early. If you arrive late, raise your hand and ask to join the class.
- EVERYONE is responsible for putting equipment away after class.
- Never say "I can't."
- Have fun and enjoy your TKD time!
