The Belt System
| White
Signifies innocence, as that of a beginning student without any previous knowledge of Taekwon-Do.
|
| Yellow
Signifies the Earth into which a seed has been planted and takes root. |
| Green
Signifies the plant’s growth as the student’s skills begin to develop. |
| Blue
Signifies the sky toward which the plant grows, maturing into a towering tree. |
| Red
Means danger, cautioning the student to use control, and the opponent to stay away. |
| Black
The opposite of white, thus signifying the wearer’s maturity and proficiency in the art of Taekwon-Do. It also indicates the wearer’s imperviousness to darkness and fear. |
